Update of 3 October 2026. Although we have not received any formal communication from GARR, LAD’s resources came back online late on 2 October. If you still notice any issues or malfunctions, please report them to Julian Bogdani (julian.bogdani@uniroma1.it). We will update this page if GARR provides further information about what happened.
Original notice of 2 October 2026
GARR, the consortium that manages the cloud infrastructure hosting the Laboratory’s servers, has reported today, 2 October 2026, that some of its cloud services, together with its identity and dashboard services, are currently unreachable due to a connectivity problem with Southern Italy. GARR’s NOC (Network Operations Center) engineers are working to restore connectivity as soon as possible.
As a result, LAD IT services hosted on this infrastructure are currently unreachable. No restoration time is known at the moment.
What is temporarily unavailable
- Platforms and online databases hosted on our cloud servers (including excavation databases and related tools)
- File storage services (Object Store)
This is a network reachability problem, not an intervention on the content: no data loss is expected. We invite you to plan your activities accordingly, avoiding critical operations on our online systems until service is restored.
We apologise for the inconvenience. We will publish updates on this page as soon as we receive new information from GARR.
