International workshop: “Far from the city: fortifications and organisational models on the margins of traditional historiography”

As part of the PRIN 2022 project “FortNet: Fortification and population network in coastal Chaonia, Northern Epirus (Albania) between Iron Age and the Medieval period”, the international workshop entitled “Far from the city: fortifications and organisational models on the margins of traditional historiography” will be held at the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome (KNIR).

The workshop is co-organised by the KNIR (Tesse Stek), Sapienza Università di Roma (Julian Bogdani), and the University of Bologna (Enrico Giorgi), and will take place on 20 February 2026 from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the KNIR premises, Via Omero 10-12, Rome.
