On Monday 10 November, Julian Bogdani will chair the first meeting of the International Association for Classical Archaeology (AIAC) of autumn 2025, to be held at 5:00 PM at the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome.
The AIAC Meetings are monthly, itinerant seminars, each dedicated to a specific topic, chaired by an expert scholar and hosted by the Roman academies. We invite PhD candidates from Roman universities and fellows from international academies, offering them the opportunity to present ongoing research and engage with other scholars.
The theme of the meeting will be “Urban Landscapes”, with the following programme:
- Jess Venner, The British School at Rome: Cultivating Memory: Resilience and Belonging in the Urban Agricultural Spaces of the Roman City
- Luca Masciale, Sapienza Università di Roma: Antonio e Roma: archeologia, politica e storia urbana
- Nastasya Kosygina, American Academy in Rome: Hard Water and Soft Buildings: Planning for Apocalypse in Sixth-Century Constantinople
