The sixteenth edition of ArcheoFOSS will be hosted by Sapienza Università di Roma on 22-24 September 2022, in collaboration with Sapienza’s Digilab Interdepartmental Research Centre.
This edition will be organised around panel sessions, which will give expert panel members the opportunity to present their views and share their experience on specific research topics, and finally to engage the audience in a closing discussion.
Original proposals are welcome both from members of the ArcheoFOSS community and from external scholars and professionals wishing to discuss research questions and professional experiences and to stimulate a broader discussion on specific themes.
As is well known, the international ArcheoFOSS conference has traditionally focused on disseminating research projects according to the Open Science paradigm: the use of open source software, open formats, and a shared and open methodology for both research processes and the communication of results. Panel organisers must therefore clearly indicate how their proposal addresses one or more of the following themes:
- Use and reuse of open source software in case studies concerning archaeological research.
- Creation of open data and the development and use of open formats.
- Development of open source software and tools, and of open processes, in archaeological research.
